Nootropic Science

You've heard about nootropics, the dietary supplements that improve focus, memory, and mood. And maybe you're wondering which nootropic product is the best. Or maybe you've been using nootropics for a while. And now you'd like to know if there's a better option. You've come to the right place.

The market is full of nootropic products with all too typical problems. Many contain ingredients that don't work, or for which there's little or no supporting evidence in scientific studies. Some contain ingredients that could work, but they provide tiny ineffective dosages. And more often than not, it's difficult if not impossible to tell, because they hide their dosages behind secret formulas.

Finally, adding insult to injury, many vendors charge exorbitant prices for their secretive ineffective products. And people are paying it. Many people are paying it! Some may not know what else to look for or what questions to ask. Some may simplistically assume that the high prices reflect something special. Others may just be tired of hoping for a better alternative, and at least the expensive products save them from the hassle of measuring out powder themselves.

Now there is a better alternative. It has better ingredients, with better evidence for nootropic effect. It has a better formula, with better dosages openly shared. And to top things off, it has a better price. It's Thrivous Clarity. And I believe it's the most valuable nootropic in the world.

Box of Thrivous Clarity, Daily Nootropic

To demonstrate the value, I've compared several top nootropic products. The comparisons consist of four parts and corresponding scores:

  1. Ingredient Evidence — First, I score each product based on the average level of scientific evidence for nootropic effects from its ingredients. The overall ingredient evidence score is the average of individual ingredient evidence scores. And when possible, the individual ingredient evidence scores come from Examine.com, an independent and unbiased encyclopedia on supplementation and nutrition that is not affiliated in any way with any supplement company. The scores reflect the Examine.com evidence scale of 0 to 4, where 0 is practically no evidence, and 4 is robust evidence.

  2. Ingredient Effect — Second, I score each product based on the average magnitude of nootropic effect from its ingredients. The overall ingredient effect score is the average of individual ingredient effect scores, weighted by individual ingredient evidence scores. And again, when possible, the individual ingredient effect scores come from Examine.com. The scores reflect the Examine.com effect scale of 0 to 3, where 0 is practically no effect beyond placebo, and 3 is strong effect.

  3. Formula Effect — Third, I score each product based on the cumulative magnitude of nootropic effect from its formula. The overall formula effect score is the sum of the individual ingredient effect scores, weighted by individual ingredient evidence scores, and further weighted by dosages in the product as a percentage of recommended dosages for nootropic effect. When possible, recommended dosages come from Examine.com.

  4. Product Value — Fourth, I score each product in overall value. The product value score is the formula effect score divided by the product price. The product price comes from the website of the vendor. Finally, I multiply all the product value scores by 1000 just to make them easier to read and compare with each other.

Nootropic Review Comparison Table - Thrivous Clarity, Q Sciences EMPowerplus Q96, Nootrobox Rise, Brainz Power, Avanse Lumonol, Nootroo, Onnit Alpha Brain, and Opti-Nutra Mind Lab Pro

As you can see in the comparison table above, my comparison includes eight products: Avanse Lumonol, Brainz Power, HVMN Nootrobox Rise, Nootroo Gold & Silver, Onnit Alpha Brain, Opti-Nutra Mind Lab Pro, Q Sciences Q96, and Thrivous Clarity.

Thrivous Clarity vs Opti-Nutra Mind Lab Pro

Opti-Nutra Mind Lab Pro comes in at the bottom of the comparison with a product value score of 42. Both its average ingredient evidence and its average ingredient effect are in the middle of the pack. Its cumulative formula effect is also in the middle of the pack. And it's the most expensive product in this comparison. Note that Mind Lab Pro has an open formula that clearly indicates ingredient concentrations and amounts. For details, see the full comparison of Opti-Nutra Mind Lab Pro vs Thrivous Clarity.

Thrivous Clarity vs Onnit Alpha Brain

Onnit Alpha Brain is in the lower half of the comparison with a product value score of 43. Both its average ingredient evidence and its average ingredient effect are on the low side. Its formula effect is in the middle of the pack. And it's the third most expensive product in this comparison. Note that Alpha Brain obscures its dosages behind a secret formula, and that it contains Huperzine, which may have a half-life longer than 24 hours and so may be inappropriate for daily supplementation without cycling. For details, see the full comparison of Onnit Alpha Brain vs Thrivous Clarity.

Thrivous Clarity vs Nootroo Gold and Silver

Nootroo Gold & Silver is in the lower half of the comparison with a product value score of 49. Its average ingredient evidence is second lowest. Its average ingredient effect is on the low side. And it's price is on the high side. Note that Nootroo obscures its dosages behind a secret formula, and that it contains Caffeine, to which users may develop a tolerance if supplemented daily without cycling. For details, see the full comparison of Nootroo vs Thrivous Clarity.

Thrivous Clarity vs Avanse Lumonol

Avanse Lumonol is in the lower half of the comparison with a product value score of 53. Both its average ingredient evidence and its average ingredient effect are in the middle of the pack. Its cumulative formula effect is also in the middle of the pack. And it's one of the less expensive products in this comparison. Note that Lumonol obscures its dosages behind a secret formula, and that it contains Guarana, to which users may develop a tolerance if supplemented daily without cycling. For details, see the full comparison of Avanse Lumonol vs Thrivous Clarity.

Thrivous Clarity vs Brainz Power

Brainz Power is in the upper half of the comparison with a product value score of 80. Its average ingredient evidence is higher than that of most others, but its low dosages result in an average ingredient effect that is in the middle of the pack. Consequently, it also has the lowest cumulative formula effect score. It makes up for that shortcoming with a price of only $15, which is the lowest in this comparison. Note that Brainz contains Huperzine, which may have a half-life longer than 24 hours and so may be inappropriate for daily supplementation without cycling. It also has an open formula that clearly indicates ingredient concentrations and amounts. For details, see the full comparison of Brainz Power vs Thrivous Clarity.

Thrivous Clarity vs Nootrobox Rise

HVMN Nootrobox Rise is in the upper half of the comparison with a product value score of 81. It has the second highest average ingredient evidence, and it just barely has the highest average ingredient effect. Although it contains relatively few ingredients, its cumulative formula effect score comes in third place, well above most other products in this comparison. And it has one of the lowest prices. Note that Rise has an open formula that clearly indicates ingredient concentrations and amounts. For details, see the full comparison of HVMN Nootrobox Rise vs Thrivous Clarity.

Thrivous Clarity vs Q Sciences EMPowerPlus Q96

Q Sciences Q96 is in the upper half of the comparison with a product value score of 83. It has the lowest average ingredient evidence, as well as the lowest average ingredient effect. It also has one of the highest prices. But it contains a long list of ingredients, enough of which have evidence for nootropic effect to result in the second highest cumulative formula effect by a substantial margin. Note that Q96 obscures its dosages behind a secret formula. That secrecy in combination with its high number of ingredients make it the hardest product to rate, and its ratings may be excessively generous. For details, see the full comparison of Q Sciences Q96 vs Thrivous Clarity.

Thrivous Clarity is the clear winner of this nootropic product comparison with a product value score of 187. It has the highest average ingredient evidence. It has the second highest average ingredient effect. It has the highest cumulative formula effect. And with a price of only $30 ($40 without a subscription), its value is far and away the best -- more than 2 times the value of the second place product, and more than 4 times the value of the last place product. To top things off, it has an open formula that clearly indicates ingredient concentrations and amounts.

Talk to your doctor about using Thrivous Clarity to improve your focus, memory, and mood. You'll get better ingredients in a better formula at a better price. The competition isn't even close.
